As part of our Get Out and Grow campaign to encourage more nature based activities in the local area, Clydach Community Garden has 10 grants of £150 available for local schools and organised groups to run a growing activity this Summer. We would love to see more local food growing in our local community. So whether it's new raised beds in a school playground, a veg growing workshop at a care home, or a sunflower growing competition with your community group, if you have an idea we want to hear it!

The purpose of the Get Out and Grow community grants are to facilitate horticulture and growing activities on a local level in Clydach and the surrounding Swansea region. We believe in the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature and connecting with community over fresh food production and horticulture skill development.

We are offering 10 small grants of £150 to enable your group or organisation to host a growing activity or event in your community. The money can be used for activity, equipment or material costs. Examples include seeds, compost, wood, gardening tools, basic cooking equipment, transport. We invite applications that bring people of different backgrounds and/or ages together, and support those working with disadvantaged or minority groups.

The closing date for applications is Friday 24th May 2024

If you would like to discuss an idea with us before submitting an application, please email clydachcommunitygarden@gmail.com

Clydach Community Garden is one of 100 community nature projects across England, Scotland and Wales to receive funding from The Nature Hubs Fund. Hubbub polling shows that three quarters of people (78%) feel better after spending time in nature. We’re excited to receive grant funding from Hubub to support our Get Out and Grow campaign and support our wider objectives in the community.
